  • How should I store my potatoes?
    Potatoes will keep longer when stored in a cool, dark area. Ideally between 7-10 degrees Celsius.
  • Where can I buy Valley Growers potatoes?
    We sell our potatoes directly at our farm in 5 lbs, 10 lbs, 20 lbs and 50 lbs bags. Our potatoes can be found locally at the Metro in Val Caron and in other grocery stores across Ontario.
  • What kind of potatoes are available?
    We have Russet, Red, Yellow and round Whites. Russet are available summer - fall. Red & yellow potatoes are available spring - summer. Round white potatoes are available summer - fall.
  • What happens if my potatoes aren’t the quality I was promised?
    Contact us if you aren’t pleased with your potatoes and we will gladly rectify the issue.
  • Is your farm open during the winter?
    Yes, we are operational year round.
  • Why do my potatoes turn black after frying or cooking?
    This can happen when potatoes are stored colder then the recommended storage temperature of 7-10 degrees Celsius. The starch in the potato turns into sugar and during the cooking process the sugar turns the potato dark.
  • Which variety is best for boiling, mashing or making fries?
    Although any variety can be used, we recommend, white rounds for boiling, all kinds for mashing and russets are best for frying.
